A. J. McLean Wiki Biography
Alexander James McLean was born on 9 January 1978, in West Palm Beach, Florida USA, of German and Cuban(mother) and Scottish, Irish and English(father) descent, and as A. J. McLean, is an actor, songwriter, musician, as well as a dancer, but probably best known as a member of the famous boy band The Backstreet Boys.
So just how rich is AJ McLean? According to authoritative sources, McLean’s net worth is estimated to amount to over $45 million as of mid-2016, the main source of his wealth coming from his career in the music industry now spanning almost 25 years.

McLean’s parents divorced when he was just two years old, and he was raised by his mother and grandmother. He found refuge from a somewhat troubled childhood in acting, and had his first role at the age of eight when he portrayed one of the characters in a horror film entitled “Truth or Dare”. This debut opened many acting and singing opportunities for McLean, and he eventually moved to Orlando with his family in order to pursue his dream job. While still a teenager, AJ McLean had many chances to appear on television screens; at the early stages of his acting career, McLean is known for portraying roles in both Disney and Nickelodeon series, including “Welcome Freshmen”, “Hi Honey, I’m Home!” with Julie Benz, as well as a competition show called “GUTS”. McLean’s early acting roles were the first major contributors to his net worth.
However, McLean’s true breakthrough came in 1993 with the formation of the Backstreet Boys band. Together with Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, and Nick Carter, McLean created what would soon become an international phenomenon. Backstreet Boys debuted with their self-titled album in 1996, which became one of the most successful debut albums of all time. “Backstreet Boys” sold over one million copies in Canada alone, and was certified Diamond by Music Canada. The band shook the music scene once again in 1999 with the release of their third studio album, “Millennium” that sold over 11 million copies that same year, eventualy over 30 million copies. In addition to remarkable record sales, the album was nominated for five Grammy Awards . AJ’s net worth was certainly rising.
Needless to say, with such successful album releases the fame of Backstreet Boys was spreading fast around the world, making them an international success. As a group, Backstreet Boys has now released seven studio albums, and has won seven Grammy Awards and seven Billboard Music Awards among many others.
AJ McLean has made significant contributions to his net worth not only thanks to the success of his band, but his solo projects as well. In 2010, McLean released his first solo album entitled “Have It All”, however, it did not reach the success of the releases of Backstreet Boys. However, AJ McLean has also been keeping himself busy with acting, making guest appearances on “Saturday Night Live”, in “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and “Sesame Street”. In 2013, McLean together with his band members debuted in a disaster comedy film featuring Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and James Franco “This Is the End”.
McLean collaborated with Finnish rapper Redrama in 2013 to release the single “Clouds”, which peaked at No. 4 in Finland. Most recently, McLean plans to release his second solo album in late 2016 entitled “Naked” – the single from the album, “Live Together” appeared in late 2015 on iTunes.
Aside from music, in July 2015, AJ launched Skulleeroz Vapor, a line of liquids for use with electronic cigarettes, the results of which are still indeterminate.
In his personal life, AJ McLean has been married to Rochelle Karidis since 2011, with whom he has a daughter. His previous problems with drug and alcohol addiction are apparently over.
