Aaron Kwok was born as Kwok Fu-shing on 26 October 1965 in Hong Kong, and is a singer, dancer and actor, perhaps best known for his on-stage dancing, reminiscent of Michael Jackson.
So just how rich is Aaron Kwok as of late 2017? Authoritative sources report that Kwok’s net worth is as high as $20 million, accumulated from his three decades long entertainment career. His assets include several luxury cars.
Aaron Kwok Net Worth $20 million
Aaron attended St. Joseph’s College in Hong Kong, then went on to work in his father’s jewelry company, King Fook Gold & Jewellery Co. Ltd. serving as a junior staff. His father wished for Kwok to take over his family business, however, Aaron was fired for his prolonged absence due to an injury he suffered at a party. Aaron then joined a dance training course at Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), and went on to appear in several music videos as a dancer, and also appeared in television shows, so really establishing his net worth.
In 1987, he became a television actor and played minor roles for the TVB. In 1990, he made a notable appearance in a commercial for a Honda motorcycle, which gained him recognition. He then decided to pursue a music career, and Aaron released three albums of the mandpop genre, and became widely recognized by the Taiwanese audience, and also won the RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Awards 1991 and Jade Solid Gold Top 10 Awards and 1991, potentially boosting his net worth. In 1994, Kwok recorded the albums ‘’Dark Side Temps’’, ‘’Desire’’ and ‘’Crazy City’’, the success of which saw him become one of Asia’s most prominent singers. In addition to his performances in China, he performed in over 200 concerts in countries including Canada, the United States and Malaysia.
In addition to developing his music career, Kwok was active in the acting industry as well. In 1998, he appeared as Cloud in ‘’The Storm Riders’’. In 1999, Kwok was awarded with Asia Pacific most popular artist. Janet Jackson and Ricky Martin collaborated with Aaron for a Pepsi advertisement, in the same year. As Aaron was dancing at all of his performances, he was often compared to Michael Jackson, who had an influence on Aaron during his formative years. He appeared in several movies in 2000, including ‘’2000 AD’’ in the starring role of Peter Li, although it received mediocre and mixed reviews, and holds a score of six out of ten stars on IMDB. In 2003, he acted in ‘’ Love Under the Sun’’, a short musical movie, and continued acting throughout the mid-2000s. In 2006, he landed a starring role in ‘’ After This Our Exile’’, which earned 17 awards in addition to being nominated for 18 – Kwok received an award for the Best Actor by Hong Kong Film Award. In the next year, Aaron played in ‘’The Detective’’ to a mixed reception, but in 2009 starred in ‘’The Empire of Silver’’, a drama based on the historical events that took place over a century ago, which won nine awards, and the same year the sequel of ‘’The Storm Riders’’ entitled ‘’The Storm Warriors’’ was successfully created. In 2013, Aaron portrayed Tong Tao in ‘’The Silent Witness’’, receiving a mostly positive response from the critics and audience. In the following year, he worked on his first movie in the ‘’ The Monkey King’’ franchise, followed by ‘’The Monkey King: The Legend Begins’’ in 2016; another sequel is in its post-production, and will be released in 2018 under the title ‘’ The Monkey King 3: Kingdom of Women’’.
In conclusion, Aaron has appeared in over 65 film and TV productions movies to date.
