Alan Tudyk Net Worth $4 Million

Alan is of mixed ancestry; his father, Timothy Nicholas Tudyk is Polish, while his mother, Betty Loyce has English, German, and Scottish roots. Although he was born in El Paso, he grew up in the Dallas suburb of Plano, where he went to Plano Senior High School; during his high school days, Alan tried to become a stand-up comedian, however, after a dissatisfied audience member threatened to kill him, Alan decided to leave unquenched his desire of becoming a stand-up comedian!

After matriculation, Alan enrolled at the Methodist-affiliated Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas, where he studied drama. During his college years, Alan was the recipient of the Academic Excellence award for drama, and made an appearance in “Billy the Kid” as Beaver Smith in an eastern New Mexico summer stock theater production of the play.

Alan enrolled at Julliard School, but dropped out of studies to concentrate directly on his acting career, and began auditioning. soon getting his first role in the drama “35 Miles from Normal” in 1997, and the following year appeared in the Academy Award- nominated biopic about Hunter Patch Adams, “Patch Adams”, starring Robin Williams, Daniel London and Monica Potter. Then in 1999 he appeared on Broadway for the first time, in the play “Epic Proportions”, since when he has continued to appear in Broadway productions such as “The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told”, “Prelude to a Kiss”, “Wonder of the World”, and “Misalliance”, among many other productions, which have significantly increased his wealth, and his reputation.

Following his appearance in “Patch Adams”, Alan was cast in the comedy drama “28 Days” (2000), played Wat in the action adventure “A Knight’s Tale” (2001) with Heath Ledger and Mark Addy in the lead roles, while in 2002 he was selected for the role of Hoban ‘Wash’ Washburne in the sci-fi TV series “Firefly” (2002-2003), and repeated the role in the film “Serenity”, released in 2005. In between, he starred as Sonny in the action drama “I, Robot” (2004), next to Will Smith and Bridget Moynahan, and portrayed Steve the Pirate in the sports comedy “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story”.

Slowly Alan’s name was becoming known, which resulted in new roles in high-production films, such as the comedy “Death at a Funeral” in 2007, the romantic comedy “Knocked Up” the same year, and “3:10 to Yuma”, in which he shared the screen with Russell Crowe, Christian Bale and Ben Foster. Alan then portrayed Tucker in the horror comedy “Tucker and Dale vs. Evil”, while in 2011 he had a minor role in the Michael Bay’s Academy Award- nominated sci-fi action adventure “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”, being selected the same year for the role of Noah Werner in the TV comedy series “Suburgatory” (2011-2014), which consistently increased his wealth. His next role was as Ben Chapman in the biopic about baseball player Jackie Robinson – “42” – while the following year he had the lead role in the comedy “Premature” (2014), and in 2016 appeared in the Academy Award- nominated “Rogue One”. Most recently, Alan has made appearances in several TV series, including “Con Man” (2015-2017), and “Powerless” (2017).

Alan has also been known for his voice work, which started in 2006 when he voiced Cholly in the animated film “Ice Age: The Meltdown”. He subsequently lent his voice to Lonnie from the TV series “Good Vibes”, and in 2012 voiced King Candy in the “Wreck-it Ralph” animated film. Most recently, he voiced Uli from the TV series “The Adventure of Puss in Boots” (2015-2016), then several characters in the TV series “Star vs. the Forces of Evil” (2015-2017), and Duke Weaselton in “Zootopia” (2016), all adding to his net worth.

Regarding his personal life, Alan has been married to choreographer Charissa Barton since September 2016. Given his recent workload, Alan apparently has little time these days for leisure pursuits!

#Quote
1In high school I wanted to be a hotel manager. If you're an actor, you don't have any money and I wanted to have a wife and children. Now I'm an actor with money but I still don't have a wife and children!
2There aren't too many new actors like Alan Arkin or Gene Hackman who exist on their own frequency, do things in a way that nobody else could get away with. Those are the people who are inspirational to me.
3I was a real ham as a child. I'd insist on dressing up as a cowboy whenever the family went out for dinner. In high school, I was a menace. I'd fake nose bleeds and fainting spells to panic my teachers.
#Fact
1During the filming of Trumbo, he entertained his on-screen son, Elijah Miskowski, and the other kids on set by performing his voice work from Frozen, Ice Age and Wreck It Ralph.
2Last name is pronounced "too-dick".
3Playing the lead in "Prelude To A Kiss" on Broadway. [February 2007]
4ended role of Lancelot on Broadway's production of Spamalot. [December 2005]
5Now playing Lancelot on Broadway in Spamalot. [July 2005]
6Has been cast in the Broadway production of Monty Python's Spamalot. He replaces Hank Azaria who is leaving in early June to film a second season of his Showtime television series Huff!. [May 2005]
7He is of Polish ancestry on his father's side, and of English, German, Scottish, French, and Dutch ancestry on his mother's side.
8Has two female dogs, Raisin and Clara.
9Auditioned for the role of Michael on The Office (2005).
10Has a star tattoo on his back, which can be seen in Conception (2011) and Meet Market (2004).
11In 1984, he performed in the Haggard Middle School (Plano, Texas) play Aesop's Fables as the Fox and won UIL regional best duet acting with, now internationally famous musician, Karl Poetschke. They performed excerpts from Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple". Alan played Felix.
12In the commentary for both A Knight's Tale (2001) and Knocked Up (2007) the directors mention having to give Alan the role due to his improvisation in the audition, His "your entrails will become your extrails" in A Knight's Tale and his whole "Tighter" bit in Knocked Up.
13As a nod to his character in Firefly (2002) and Serenity (2005), Alan can be heard in Halo 3 swearing in Chinese, quickly followed by "I wish I was someone else right now!".
14Smokey and the Bandit (1977) is his favorite movie.
15Alan filled in for Hank Azaria in the Broadway show "Spamalot" while the latter was filming the second season of Huff (2004) and working on the 17th season of The Simpsons (1989). Actress Sara Ramirez, another performer in the production at this time, was in Alan's class (Group 26) at Juilliard.
16While in college, Alan was active in the Delta Psi Omega fraternity.
17In the Firefly episode "Out of Gas" (1x05) Wash wires up a large, red button for the captain to press if he needs the crew to return to the ship. When he shows it to Mal he says, "When your miracle gets here, just hit this button." When Alan left the Firefly (2002) set after the series was canceled, he took that button as a keepsake. When Joss Whedon announced that he would be searching for a way to bring the show back as either a series or a feature film, Alan sent him the button with a note that said, again, "When your miracle gets here, just hit this button.".
18According to the "War Stories" (1x09) episode commentary, when he couldn't remember the Chinese dialogue for Firefly (2002), he would just make it up and hope no one noticed.
19To prepare for the role of Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004), he joined a group of pirate role players called the Rumrunners and spent a week at Pirate Camp.
20In preparing for the role of Sonny in the film I, Robot (2004), he studied dance, movement, and mime to accurately portray movement that was programmed in. His work was captured with motion-capture technology.
21According to the rest of the Firefly (2002) cast, he was consistently the worst speaker of Chinese on the show. He attributes this to having to learn long and complicated phrases such as "Mother of God and all her wacky nephews" in Mandarin.
22Didn't go to his senior prom because the girl he was planning to take two-timed him with another guy and got pregnant.
23Threw a we-don't-work-for-Fox-anymore party for the cast and crew of the short-lived TV series Firefly (2002) after he heard that it was canceled.
24Alan's most prized possession was a 1964 Mustang, which he named Old Sock.
