Albert Louis Hammond Jr. was born on the 9^th April 1979, in Los Angeles, California USA, and is of Argentinian and Gibraltarian descent. Albert is best known to the world as a guitarist of the rock band The Strokes; however, Albert has also launched a solo career as a singer, releasing three albums so far.

Albert`s father also dabbled in music in his own time, having a few hits, including “It Never Rains In Southern California” released in 1972.
