Alesha Dixon was born on 7 October 1978, in Welwyn Garden City, England, of Jamaican descent. Alesha is a model, television presenter, singer and dancer, but best known for being part of the all-female trio Mis-Teeq. She has also tried her hand at a career as a solo artist and released several singles. All of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Alesha Dixon? As of mid-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $4 million, mostly earned through a successful career in music. Her resurgence came after she won 2007’s “Strictly Come Dancing”, which led her to release several albums. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.
Alesha Dixon Net Worth $4 million
Alesha grew up in a dysfunctional household; her father left the family when she was young, and her mother was the victim of domestic violence from her partner. She studied sports at college and aspired to be a PE teacher, however, while she was taking dance classes in London she was approached by a talent scout, then by another who invited her into the formation of a band.
The trio of Sabrina Washington, Alesha Dixon and Su-Elise Nash would sign to Telstar Records, then added Zena McNally, becoming the girl band Mis-Teeq. They released their first single in 2001 entitled “Why”, which went unnoticed until the release of a garage remix, and although it then became very successful, it was the time that McNally left the group. The trio continued to make more music, and would release their debut album “Lickin’ On Both Sides”, for which they received a BRIT Award nomination, and would later win a MOBO Award for Best Garage Act. In 2003, they released their second album – “Eye Candy” – and Alesha would also be featured in the music video “She Wants to Move” by N.E.R.D. All of these opportunities helped increase her net worth.
In 2006, Alesha tried her hand at a solo career after the break-up of Mis-Teeq. She worked on her solo album “Fired Up”, but after releasing several singles, she was dropped by the label. The following year, she became a part of the show “Strictly Come Dancing”, becoming a favorite of the show and she would eventually win it, making her the most successful contestant to ever have joined the show. After her win, numerous record labels bid for a contract with her, and Alesha soon joined Asylum Records with a four album contract. This continued to help her net worth increase, and she also had a show entitled “The Alesha Show”. Her first single after her win was “The Boy Does Nothing”, and it would reach the top ten. Her album would get platinum certification, and she was then cast as a judge in “Strictly Come Dancing”.
In 2010, Dixon worked on a new studio album called “The Entertainer”, which was not very successful commercially, but she continued to release more singles, and eventually left “Strictly Come Dancing” to pursue other projects. She then became a part of “Britain’s Got Talent” as part of their judging panel. In 2015, she worked on the album “Do It For Love”m and the following year, made a cameo appearance in the film “Absolutely Fabulous- the Movie”.
For her personal life, it is known that Dixon married rapper Michael Harvey, Jr. in 2005 but they divorced the following year. Since 2012, she has been married to Azuka Ononye. She does a lot of philanthropic work, including raising money for Comic Relief. She is also a patron of the African-Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT), and has worked with various animal rights organizations. She’s also worked with several LGBT charities. She continues to live in London.

I believe if a child is in a secure, stable environment they can go out into the world fearless. But if a child doesn't have that feeling of security because of the uncertainties around them, it affects them. Probably some of the greatest songwriters in the world are insecure people because they have inner fears.

I make a conscious decision not to vote as I don't trust anybody that runs the country because you give somebody too much power and they let it go to their heads. Tony Blair is only the front man. He's not necessarily the man that actually pulls the strings

Fair play to women if they want to empower themselves or want to go out and buy all their little sex toys. Not my cup of tea personally--I'm quite old-fashioned, which would probably bore the pants off a lot of people. I like my serious relationships. I have a healthy sex life and I don't need any tools. My man does a perfectly good job himself!
