Alexandra Patricia Morgan, an American professional football player, was born on 2 July 1989, in San Dimas, California USA. Alex was the youngest member of the United States women’s national soccer team which won the gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics She plays forward for Portland Thorns FC in the National Women’s Soccer league (NWSL). Her first club was Cypress Elite which she joined at the age of 14; with this club she won the under-16 Coast Soccer league (CSL). She went to Diamond Bar High School where she was picked for all league three times; she was known for her agility and sprinting. She played regional and state for Olympic Development Program which she credited for giving her the chance to improve her game and mentality; she stated that she got to play with great players and under the guidance of great coaches which helped a lot in developing her game. She was also in the 2012 London Olympics Gold medal winning US team, she scored in the semifinal match against Japan in 123rd minute, and most of her goals were scored after the mark of 60 minutes. She was also a member of 2015 FIFA Women’s world cup-winning US squad, and played all the matches after returning from knee injury. In her personal life, Alex Morgan married Servando Carrasco, her fellow soccer player on 31 December 2014. She has been given the nickname of “Baby Horse” by her team mates because of her extreme speed and agility.
