Alexandra has Italian and Armenian roots; she is the daughter of actor David Hedison and his wife Bridget. She went to the State University of New York at Purchase, and she also attended the University of California, Los Angeles.

Alexandra’s acting career began in the mid- ‘90s with a small role in the TV series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” (1994), and the same year she appeared in the films “The Hard Truth”, and “Sleep With Me”, starring Craig Sheffer, Eric Stoltz and Meg Tilly.
