Alison Pill was born on 27 November 1985, in Toronto, Canada, and is an actress best known for appearing in ‘’Midnight in Paris’’, ‘’Zoom’’ and ‘’American Horror Story’’.

Alison’s father is of Estonian ancestry. She attended Vaughan Road Academy, where she joined the program designed for acting, dancing, music and athletics, and began acting when she was 10 years old. She was also the narrator of the Toronto Children’s Chorus’s performances, then in 1997 made her television debut as a guest-star in ‘’The New Ghostwriter Mysteries’’. In the next year, she provided voice recordings for the role of Paulette in five episodes of ‘’Anatole’’, and continued portraying minor characters throughout the late ‘90s. In 1998, she starred in ‘’Degas and the Dancer’’, which drew a positive response and Pill earned a nomination for Best Performance in a TV Movie or Pilot in the category of Supporting Young Actress. In 1999, she acted in several other movies including ‘’What Katy Did’’, where she played the main character, Katy Carr, a 13 years old girl whose view on life changes after a tragic accident. In 2016, she starred in the TV drama mystery show ‘’The Family’’, appearing in all 12 episodes. Most recently, in 2017 she joined the cast of ‘’American Horror Story’’ for the seventh season entitled ‘’Cult’’, playing the main character, Ivy Mayfair-Richards. Overall, Pill has appeared in 67 movie and television projects.

In her personal life, Pill was engaged to actor Jay Baruchel from 2011 to 2013, however, they ended up separating. In 2015, she married Joshua Leonard, and they have a daughter together.
