She moved to New York City at the age of 18 and would attend the American Musical and Acting Academy as well as the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She moved to Los Angeles to audition for “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”, and was cast in the role of Pink Power Ranger Kimberly Ann Hart. One of the reasons she was chosen was because of her gymnastics background, and the show would gain a significant amount of success. She left the show in 1995, and would then appear in “Susie Q” and “Saved by the Bell: The New Class” which were produced by Disney. Two years later she became a part of “Killing Mr. Griffin” which was based on a novel, and “Perfect Body”. She then reprised her role of Kimberly Hart in the film “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie”. In 1998, she was cast in the series “Felicity” and became part of the show for three years, making several appearances during the fourth and final season.
In the 2000s, she continued appearing in various shows such as “ER” and “Spin City”. She then appeared in the fourth season of “The Division”, and would go on and make a string of television movies, including “Fatal Trust” and “Magma: Volcanic Disaster”. She then tried her hand at independent films, with “Islander” and “Veritas, Prince of Truth”. In 2008, she became a cast member of “Flashpoint” and was subsequently nominated for a Gemini Award thanks to her performances. One of her latest series is “Covert Affairs” in which she has a recurring role.
Aside from her acting career, Amy is known to have a music career, and has already released three albums, entitled “The Trans-American Treatment”, “Imperfect”, and “Never Broken”. Her singing skills are often displayed in her shows and she’s performed a few songs in “Flashpoint”.
