Andrew Arthur Taylor was born on the 16th February 1961, in Cullercoats, Northumberland, England, and is a musician – singer, songwriter, and guitarist, who is probably best recognized for being a member of Duran Duran, and The Power Station bands. He is also known for his career as a solo artist and record producer, who has released three studio albums and a number of solo singles. His career has been active since 1980.
So, have you ever wondered how rich Andy Taylor is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total sum of Andy’s net worth is over $20 million, which has been accumulated through his successful career in the music industry not only as a part of a band, but also as a solo artist. Another source is coming from the sales of his autobiographical book “Wild Boy: My Life In Duran Duran”, published in 2008.
Andy Taylor Net Worth $20 Million
Andy Taylor spent his childhood in north-east England, where he attended Marden High School. When he was only 11 years old he began playing guitar, and soon he became a member of several local bands. By the age of 16, he had started to work as a producer. Thus, he quit education early to tour England and Europe with bands, and soon enough his professional musical career began.
Before Andy became a part of Duran Duran, he played in several bands, but in April 1980 he moved to Birmingham, and soon became a part of a band which played in the local club Rum Runner named Duran Duran, formed by John Taylor and Nick Rhodes, while they later added Simon Le Bon after few vocalist changes, and Andy Taylor on guitar.
The band’s first, self-titled album came out in 1981, and became a complete success, achieving platinum status both in UK and US, while in Canada it was certified two times platinum, which added a considerable amount to Andy’s net worth. Also, it reached No. 3 on the UK charts and No. 10 on the US Billboard 200 chart, encouraging the band to continue to work together. Andy stayed in the band until 1986, during which time band became extremely popular, with albums “Rio” (1982) which reached No. 2 on the UK Charts and No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200, while it also achieved platinum status in UK and double platinum in US, which only increased further Andy`s net worth. Their third album “Seven And The Ragged Tiger” topped the UK Charts, and was their second album to achieve double platinum status. After “Notorious” (1986), Andy left the band, but returned in 2001 to record and release “Astronaut”, which also became a success, reaching No. 3 on the UK Charts, and achieving gold status in the UK.
Apart from Duran Duran, Andy has played in several other bands including Power Station, which consisted of Robert Palmer, Tony Thompson and John Taylor, releasing two albums – “The Power Station” (1985) and “Living In Fear” (1986), which contributed to his net worth by a large margin.
Furthermore, Andy also focused on his solo career, and he collaborated with ex-Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones on his debut solo album, which was released under the name “Thunder” in 1987. Three years later, out came his second album “Dangerous”, and in 1999 Andy released his third album “The Spanish Sessions”. His most recent venture is his fourth album, which was recorded in 2008, entitled “The Underdog Has Landed”. Andy has also released a number of solo hits, such as “Take It Easy”, peaking No. 24 on the Billboard chart in the US and topped the US MTV charts, plus “When The Rain Comes Down” and “Life Goes On”, increasing his net worth to a large degree.
Regarding his personal life, Andy Taylor has been married to Tracey Wilson, a hairstylist for Duran Duran, since 1982; the couple has four children together – his son Andrew Jr. is also a musician, and has formed his own band named Electric City.

Genuine rivalry between us and Spandau Ballet? Actually, really, not a great deal. We were more pop orientated. And some might say we were just better songwriters.
