Zucker’s early career started as an elementary school teacher for ten years. She later entered the world of business and sat as the Director of Community Relations of The InterTech Group Inc. In 1994, she also became a co-owner of the South Carolina Stingrays, an ice hockey team, and is still so today. The early years of her career helped jumpstart her success and her net worth.
Unfortunately, Zucker’s husband Jerry, former CEO and Chair of Hudson Bay Company, died in 2008. She later took over the company and became the only woman in its history to sit in those positions. Although Zucker only stayed at Hudson Bay for less than year, she then joined InterTech Group Inc. as its CEO and Chair from 2008 and until today. She also made headlines when she donated $4 million to The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. The Citadel dedicated its School of Education to Zucker and her family, and named it after them.
