Art`s childhood was rough; his father left him, his mother, brother and three sisters, which forced them to move to the Mar Vista Gardens housing projects in California, near Culver City. Art attended Los Angeles Community College where he studied film, but soon enough got involved in the underground music scene by becoming a member of the band called The Easy Hoes.
