Of Spanish, French and American ancestry, Astrid is the oldest of three sisters; her parents divorced when she was only two years old, and she went with her father to France, settling in a small town close to La Rochelle. During her growing-up she would take part in school plays, but never actually thinking of becoming an actress. After living for several years in France, she and her father moved to the Dominican Republic, but once she turned 17, Astrid moved back to France, settling in Paris, and started pursuing a career in osteopathy.
