Davis grew up living with his grandparents Luke and Lela Nicholson, along with his sister Lisa. He was offered a basketball scholarship at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences, a private school in Santa Monica. In his senior year, his team won The Beach Ball Classic tournament championship, and Davis was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) as well as an invitation onto the All-Tournament team. He also won the Gatorade National Player of the Year and the Parade All-American. In addition to his string of awards, he earned a spot to play at the McDonald’s All-American High School Basketball Game in Colorado Springs in 1997.

His stellar performance made him a highly sought-after player for college basketball, with schools Duke, Kansas, Michigan, Connecticut, Georgetown, and the University of California, Los Angeles(UCLA) – Davis chose to play for the UCLA Bruins. In his freshman year he averaged 13.6 points and 5.1 assists per game. The Bruins joined the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament where he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) which cut him out for the rest of the season. In his sophomore year, his performance improved with an average of 15.9 points, 5.1 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. The Bruins placed fifth in the South for the NCAA with a record of 22 wins and eight losses, and. Davis became part of the All-American team.

He then left UCLA to join the 1999 NBA draft in which he became the third overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets, now known as New Orleans Hornets. In his stay with the Hornets, the team made it to the playoffs for five years. He was also part of the 2002 NBA All-Star Game as a replacement for Vince Carter. That same year, Davis was selected for the US National team to compete in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Championship. Of course his net worth was growing.

In 2005, Davis was traded to the Golden State Warriors for a contract worth $17.8 million, and in 2007 he led the team to the playoffs, in which they hadn’t appeared since 1994. He had an average of 21.6 points, 8 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game. In 2008, he left the Warriors and his signed a $65 million five-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. However, his injures and disappointing performance resulted to a season total of 19 wins and 63 losses, so he was then traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011, and he helped the team end its losing streak with wins over teams like the Miami Heat. However, a year later he signed a one-year contract with the New York Knicks but injured his knee during the playoffs against Miami Heat. Since then, he has recovered from his injury and returned to playing ball in the Drew League in 2015. He is currently playing in the NBA Development League after signing a contract in January 2016. His net worth is still growing.

In addition to his basketball career, Davis has also ventured into acting and producing. He appeared in the movie “The Cookout” and the series “Hot in Cleveland”. He also owns a production company, Verso Entertainment, along with his friend and Jessica Alba’s husband, Cash Warren.

In is personal life, Baron is married to former Creative Artists Agency (CAA) agent Isabella Brewster and sister of “The Fast and The Furious” actor Jordana Brewster, and they have a son.
