Bea Arthur was raised in a Jewish family with two sisters by her parents Philip and Rebecca Frankel. When she was 11 years old, the family moved to Cambridge, Maryland, but she went to Linden Hall School for Girls in Lititz, Pennsylvania, and later she entered Blackstone College for Girls in Blackstone, Virginia, where she was very active in the school’s plays.
