Bianna Vitalievna Golodryga was born on the 15th of June 1978, in Causeni, Moldova, and is an American journalist who rose to fame as the weekend co-anchor of the show “Good Morning America”. She is currently the news and finance anchor at Yahoo! News.

Born in the country of Moldova, Golodryga is the daughter of Zhanna and Vitaly Golodryga. Her parents are Bessarabian Jews who flew to the Unites States when she was just 18 months. The family settled in Houston, Texas where her mother got a job as the Chief Information Officer of the Hess Corporation, while her father worked as a mechanical engineer.

Growing up in Houston, Golodryga attended High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. After finishing high school, she realized she doesn’t want to become an actress, but instead a journalist. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a degree in Russian/East European & Eurasian studies with a minor in economics.

Right after graduation, Golodryga entered the financial service industry and became a licensed trader. Unfortunately, after a huge drop in the market she was redundant, and so started pursuing a career in journalism. In 2001, she became a bureau producer for CNBC, stationed at the New York Stock Exchange. She later became a segment producer, and worked on the show “The Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo”. Her early years as a producer helped establish her career in journalism and her net worth.

In 2007, Golodryga became a correspondent for ABC for the next four years, during which she reported for shows including “Nightline” and “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer”. She was later named as the new co-anchor of “Good Morning America” weekend edition 2010. Her time as a reporter led her to interview notable persons such as Warren Buffet, President Bill Clinton and Condoleezza Rice. Her time as co-anchor led her to popularity and increased her wealth tremendously.

In 2014, Golodryga left the ABC and joined Yahoo! News’ business and finance news department, and she is still with the company up until today. She is also a regular contributor to the show “Morning Joe”, which airs on MSNBC.

Aside from her work in front of the camera, Golodryga is also a columnist for the Huffington Post, and is a known member of the US Council on Foreign Relations.

In terms of her personal life, Golodryga married Peter R. Orszag – former Director of the Office of Management and Budget during the Obama administration – in 2010, and they have a son and a daughter.
