Blair Erwin Underwood was born on 25 August 1964, in Tacoma, Washington, USA, of Babungo descent. Blair is an actor and director, probably best known for the role of Jonathan Rollins for the TV drama “LA Law”. He’s also been seen in shows such as “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”, “Dirty Sexy Money” and “The Event”. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is now.

Blair spent his childhood travelling and living in various US army bases because his father was a US Army Colonel. He attended Petersburg High School in Virginia, and after matriculating went to the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in Pittsburgh.
His first film was entitled “Krush Groove” in 1985, and he went on to appear in “The Cosby Show” during the same year. His appearance there helped him get work in the series “One Life to Live”, and later he became part of “L.A. Law”. The show ran from 1987 to 1994 and he started to get recognition and an increase of net worth. Around this time, he also appeared in “21 Jump Street” alongside a young Johnny Depp.
After his run in “L.A. Law”, he appeared in more films such as “Just Cause” and “Deep Impact”. He continued his film career, but in 2000 went back to television in “City of Angels”. In 2003, he appeared in “Sex and the City”, and then the following year became a part of “LAX”. His next show would be “The New Adventures of Old Christine” which lasted for two years, and he then moved to become a guest in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”. Afterwards, Underwood became a part of HBO’s “In Treatment” for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe. In 2010, he portrayed the United States President Elias Martinez for “The Event”, and then went on to perform in the Broadway production of “A Streetcar Named Desire”.
Underwood has received various awards for his work including three NAACP Image Awards for various films and shows. He also became a part of the list of “Most Influential Faces of the 90s”, and “50 Most Beautiful People”. Aside from these, he’s also authored a novel entitled “Casanegra: A Tennyson Hardwick Novel”.
For his personal life. it is known that Blair has been married to Desiree DaCosta since 1994, and they have three children.
Politically he supported the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. Additionally Blair has done a lot of charity work including being a part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He was also a spokesperson for YouthAIDS and has helped established AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s Blair Underwood Clinic. Aside from these, he’s appeared in a public service announcement for The Fulfillment Fund.
