A native of Lancaster, Brad went to Manheim Township High School in Neffsville, Pennsylvania. During his high school years he slowly started implementing quiz skills, and joined the quiz bowl team. He became one of the 19 people to be inducted into the National Academic Championship Hall of Fame. After matriculation, Brad enrolled at Johns Hopkins University to study English, however, he dropped out without graduating.

After dropping out of college, Brad started working at a Coconuts record store located in his hometown and then in 2000 made his first appearance in “Jeopardy!”. In his first stint, Brad won $55,102, and two Chevrolet cars, since he was a five-day undefeated champion. In the following years, Brad was invited to the Tournament of Champions thanks to his previous success and he came out as a winner, taking home the main prize of $100,000. He returned to “Jeopardy!” in 2002 for the Million Dollar Masters Tournament, won again, and with the prize of $1 million, Brad became the all-time money winner in the popular quiz.

Three years later he was again part of “Jeopardy!”, this time competing in the Ultimate Tournament of Champions, in which he won $2.1 million, considerably increasing his net worth. He only experienced his first loss in “Jeopardy!” in 2011, when he and another recorder, Ken Jennings competed against an IBM computer, built especially for the needs of the game show. Brad came in last, while Ken was second.

He returned to the quiz one more time in 2014, to participate in “the Battle of the Decades”, which included “Jeopardy!” champions from the last 30 years. Brad won the tournament and another $1 million, which made him the highest money-winner ever on American game shows. Brad participated in several other game shows, but none of those appearances were as fruitful as his several stints on “Jeopardy!”.

In recent years he has started pursuing an acting career, and also a career as a host, and so far has appeared in “Discount Fitness” (2015), and “Pub Quiz” (2016).

Regarding his personal life, Brad tends to keep his most intimate details hidden from the public eye, therefore, there is no any information in the media regarding his private life.
