Brandy Rayana Norwood, commonly known as Brandy Norwood or simply Brandy, is a famous American singer, songwriter, rap artist, dancer, as well as a record and television producer. Brandy’s rise to fame started in 1994, when she released her self-titled debut album. A mixture of R&B and soul, “Brandy” soon became an international success, as it was not only praised by critics but appreciated by its listeners too. The album enjoyed an immense commercial success, and topped the Billboard charts with more than 2 million copies sold in the United States alone. In addition to spawning four singles, Brandy’s debut album earned her two Grammy Awards nominations, as well as a Platinum certification from the RIAA.
Brandy Norwood Net Worth $14 Million
However, Brandy is known not only as a singer, but as an actress too. In 1996, she portrayed the main character is the sitcom series “Moesha”, where she co-starred alongside William Allen Young and Ray J.
Prior to returning to the music industry, Brandy also managed to appear in an award-winning romantic film with Whitney Houston, Jason Alexander and Whoopi Goldberg entitled “Cinderella”, as well as a musical film “Double Platinum”.
A famous singer and actress, how rich is Brandy Norwood? In 2008, Brandy managed to accumulate more than $1 million from the sales of her studio album “Human”, which sold 1 million copies worldwide, while in 2012 she earned $185 000 from the sales of “Two Eleven”. In regards to her wealth, Brandy Norwood’s net worth is estimated to be $14 million, the majority of which she collected due to her involvement in the entertainment industry.
Brandy was born in 1979, in Mississippi, US. Brandy began singing at the local church, where she attended choir, and later studied at the Hollywood High Performing Arts Center. Brandy’s career began in 1990 when she was signed to “Teaspoon Production” as a backing singer for an R&B group called “Immature”. Prior to her breakthrough, Brandy starred in the sitcom “Thea” starring Thea Vidale, and even though the show was cancelled after one season, Brandy’s role in it earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award.
Soon after that Brandy released her well-known debut album and ventured on to appear on television screens. Following the success of “Brandy”, Norwood came out with “Never Say Never”, an award-winning second studio album, which is considered to be among the Top 100 best-selling albums in the United States with 16 million copies sold. Later in her career, Brandy continued working on her albums and to date has released six studio albums, the most recent being “Two Eleven” released in 2012.
Alongside her singing career, Brandy has been working as an actress too and has starred in such projects as “America’s Got Talent”, “Dancing with the Stars”, “House” with Hugh Laurie, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”, “American Dreams” and more recently “The Game”, which is a comedy-drama series with Brittany Daniel, Hosea Chanchez, and Coby Bell.
An award-winning actress as well as a singer, Brandy Norwood currently has an estimated net worth of $14 million.
