Brian Billick Net Worth $5 Million

Born in Fairborn, Ohio, he started playing American Football during his school years at Redlands High School in California, and continued to play when he entered the United States Air Force Academy. After he realized that he couldn’t be a fighter pilot because of his height, he transferred to Brigham Young University and became a tight end player in their football team, receiving All-Western Athletic Conference and honourable mention in All-America honors. In 1977, he was selected in the NFL Draft in the 11th round by the San Francisco 49ers, but was released by the 49ers and then the Dallas Cowboys, and never actually played an NFL game.

After not being able to play professionally, Billick decided to be a coach instead. He first served the University of Redlands in 1977 as a volunteer wide receiver coach while also working at Redlands High School as assistant coach. The following year, he worked at Brigham Young as a graduate assistant, and in 1979 worked at the 49ers as its assistant director of public relations.

Billick decided to go back to coaching college football and served at the San Diego University as the team’s tight ends coach from 1981 to 1985. Then he moved to Utah State University as the school’s offensive coordinator from 1986 to 1988, and subsequently spent three seasons with Stanford University from 1989 to 1991 as its assistant head coach. His early years as a coach in universities established his coaching career, and also his net worth.

In 1992, Billick entered the world of NFL once again, as the assistant coach of the Minnesota Vikings, serving the team until 1998 and helping set offensive records throughout his tenure, until in 1999 becoming the second coach of the Baltimore Ravens.

Billick served the Ravens from 1999 until 2007, and achieved significant results. He led the team to its non-losing record (8-8) in his first season, and also helped the team bag the Super Bowl title in 2001 against the New York Giants. His success with the Ravens tremendously increased his wealth through the years.

After retiring from the NFL in 2007, Billick entered the world of television and became a commentator, having had some previous experience during play-off periods when not coaching. Some of the shows he has appeared in include “ABC Sports”, “NFL on Fox”, “The Coaches”, and “Playbook” to name a few.

Aside from coaching and being a commentator, Billick is also an author, co-writing three books entitled “Competitive Leadership: Twelve Principles for Success” with Dr. James A. Peterson, “Finding the Winning Edge” with fellow coach Bill Walsh and his second book with Dr. Peterson, and “More Than a Game: the Glorious Present and Uncertain Future of the NFL” with Michael MacCambridge, adding somewhat to his net worth.

In terms of his personal life, Billick has been married to Leslie Kim McDonald’s since 1980, and together they have two children.
