Brian Lara was raised with 10 siblings in his hometown, where he attended the Harvard Coaching Clinic every Sunday from six years of age. thanks to which he was taught very early correct batting technique. He later went to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic primary, and then attended San Juan Secondary School.At the age of 14, he enrolled at Fatima College, where he distinguished himself in playing cricket under the coach Mr. Harry Ramdass. In the schoolboys’ league, he averaged with 126.16 per innings in scoring 745 runs, which led him to the Trinidad national under-16 team. In the following year, he played his first West Indian under-19 youth tournament, and represented West Indies in Under-19 cricket.

Brian’s professional career began in 1987, when he broke Carl Hooper’s record of 480 runs, scoring 498 in the West Indies Youth Championships. In January 1988, he made his first-class debut for Trinidad and Tobago against Leeward Islands in the Red Stripe Cup. Since then, his career has only gone upwards, as well as his net worth. Nevertheless, he became captain again in April 2006, leading the West Indies to win only one of the 14 Test matches. Later that year, he became the first player in the West Indies who passed 10,000 ODI runs, alongside Indian Sachin Tendulkar, but in 2007 before the Cricket World Cup, he announced his retirement, so his last match would be in One Day Internationals, if he didn’t sign a contract with the Indian Cricket League in the same year; however, he suffered an injury, tried to play again, but this time he didn’t have major success.However, he stayed in the sports industry as an ambassador of the Bangladesh Premier League team Chittagong Kings.
