Brian Molko was born on the 10th December 1972, in Brussels, Belgium and is a musician, singer, songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, who came to prominence by being the lead singer of the popular alternative rock band Placebo. They have released seven studio albums, and had a number of hit singles, such as “Pure Morning” (1998), “The Bitter End” (2003), which is their hallmark, “Meds” (2006), and too Many Friends” (2013), among many others.
Have you ever wondered how rich Brian Molko is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Molko’s net worth is as high as $3 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the music industry, which has been active since 1992.
Brian Molko Net Worth $3 Million
Brian is the second child born to an American banker of French-Italian ancestry, and a highly devout Roman Catholic mother of Scottish ancestry. During his childhood, Brian lived in several countries and continents, including Liberia, Lebanon and Belgium. The Molko family settled in Longeau, Belgium, near to the Luxembourgian border. He went to the American International School of Luxembourg – where he first came in touch with his future band mate Stefan Olsdal – and then enrolled at Goldsmiths College in London, where he studied drama.
Brian lived in London during his college years and already implanted himself into the London underground music scene. He was a part of the band Ashtray Heart, alongside Steve Hewitt, and one day bumped into his old classmate Stefan Olsdal, whom he immediately invited to one of Ashtray Heart concerts. The trio teamed up and formed Placebo, but Steve left the group soon after since he had other on-going musical projects, so Brian and Stefan brought in Robert Schultzberg as their new drummer. They started building-up their name by performing in local clubs, and then in 1995 released their first single “Bruise Pristine”. Placebo signed a recording contract with Caroline Records the following year and released their self-titled debut album later that year. The album was an immense hit, reaching No. 5 on the UK Chart and achieving platinum status in the UK and France as well, increasing Brian’s net worth to a large degree. It turned out to be their highest rating album in the UK in their entire career, but they became popular all over the world with their albums reaching gold and platinum status in several countries, including Australia, Germany, Switzerland Austria and others, which only added a substantial amount to Brian’s wealth. Robert left the group after the release of the debut album, and Steve Hewitt returned to drumming duties and remained with Placebo until 2007 when he left due to creative differences between him and Brian. Some of the most successful albums include “Sleeping with Ghosts” (2003), “Meds” (2006), “Battle for the Sun” (2009), and “Loud Like Love” (2013).
Aside from his successful career with Placebo, Brian has also collaborated with numerous successful artists, including Michael Stipe on the song “Broken Promise”, then worked with Timo Mass on several songs, and with David Bowie and The Cure as well, among many others.
Regarding his personal life, Brian has a son with his long-time girlfriend, Helena Berg. He is openly bisexual and has become known for his androgynous looks and for wearing makeup in Placebo videos and live performances as well.
Music is about expressing things you can't in everyday life.

Placebo is music for outsiders, by outsiders and our gigs are like conventions of outcasts, which is cool.
