Britt grew up in Satellite Beach, Florida and she attended Satellite High School, where she also played for the school’s soccer team. She matriculated in 2004, afterwards attending Stetson University, and playing as a midfielder for the Hatters soccer team. In 2007, she graduated as magna cum laude from the school, then went to attend Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She also started her career there, covering stories in Chicago, Illinois.

McHenry graduated from Medill School of Journalism and then continued her career as a part of the ABC Television Washington affiliate, WJLA-TV. She also served as a part of the sister station NewsChannel8 for which she was a fill-in anchor, and also worked as a sports reporter. Soon, more opportunities would come her way to increase her net worth – she briefly worked for Fox Sports San Diego as a dugout reporter on telecasts of the San Diego Padres baseball team, then returned to work for ABC 7, where she would stay for a couple of years. In 2014 she moved to ESPN as a Washington DC-based bureau reporter, starting by appearing in several ESPN shows mainly as a correspondent, including “SportsCenter”, “Baseball Tonight”, “Outside the Lines” and “NFL Live”. She would stay with ESPN for a total of three years. In 2017, she then announced that she was being let go by ESPN, after doing her final work at a coverage of the NFL Draft. McHenry was released by the network as a part of a large 100-person layoff which saw people like Jay Crawford, Jayson Stark and Ed Werder also leave the company.

Britt then joined Fox News Channel as a contributor, and she is also seen as a part of “The Federalist”, which is an online magazine that covers numerous topics; the publication is said to be influenced by conservative and libertarian circles.

For her personal life, nothing is known about McHenry’s romantic relationships, not even any rumours have surfaced. In 2015, a video of her went viral showing her verbally abusing a tow lot employee. She later apologized through Twitter, but was suspended from ESPN for a week. The towing company also issued a statement that they did not want her to be suspended or terminated for her actions.
