Born in Gadsden, Alabama, Williams is the son of Sherry Williams and Aaron Turner. His love for the sport started when he began playing for Etowah High School in Attalla, Alabama. His nickname “Cadillac” was given by a TV sportscaster in his hometown, describing the style and the way he ran.

Soon after matricuation, he moved to Auburn University and played for the school’s team the Tigers while pursuing a degree in sociology. He had outstanding performances all throughout his college years. During his senior year, he helped lead the team to win the SEC Championship and the Sugar Bowl. He also earned the All-American honors and All-SEC first team for playing as a running back and return specialist. He also made history when he earned nine SEC Player of the Week honors. Williams finished his playing years in college breaking a number of school records, from most rushing attempts to most touchdowns.

In 2005, Williams immediately got in to the National Football League when he was selected number five by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL Draft. He signed a multi-million dollar contract with the team, firmly establishing his net worth.

During his first year as a professional American Football player, Williams already earned his worth in a matter of weeks. In 2006, he won the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, garnering 47 votes out of 50 from various sports writers and broadcasters in the country, and also won the NFL Rookie of the Year Award that same year, which is determined via online voting at NFL.com.

Despite Williams’ exceptional performance, he was plagued by injuries throughout his short career in the NFL. In 2007, he tore the patellar tendon of his right knee which caused him to be out of the game for over a year. Then in 2008, he then tore the patellar tendon of his left knee. Regardless, he stayed with the Buccaneers until 2010 until became an unrestricted free agent.

In 2011, Williams was able to sign a new deal with the St. Louis Rams, but only played with the team for a year. Even though he only played for a short time in the NFL, his active years still helped in raising his wealth.
