Candis Cayne is a performance artist and an actress, who was born Brendan McDaniel on 29 August 1971 in Maui, Hawaii USA. She came into international stardom for her role in the drama-series ‘Dirty Sexy Money,’ in which she portrayed Carmelita. She is also noted for her gender transitioning process which she apparently began in the mid-1990s.

In 1995, she appeared in a documentary film entitled ‘Wingstock: The Movie’ under her birth name, and again took part using her birth name in “To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything” in the same year The following year she was offered a supporting role in ‘Always Something Better,’ a comedy-drama-film, and later in 1997 co-stared in RuPaul’s music video ‘A Little Bit of Love.’ In 2001, she actually won the Miss Continental Pageant.
