Carolyn Laurie Kane was born on 18 June 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio USA, to jazz singer, pianist, dancer and teache, Elaine Joy, and Michael Myron Kane, an architect of Jewish descent. She is an actress and comedian, best known for her roles in the films “Hester Street” and “Annie Hall”, the television series “Taxi” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, and in the musical “Wicked”.
