Chad was raised in Texas, and his interest in golf occurred quite early as he became a member of the junior college men’s golf squad by the time he was on his studies in the early nineties. Campbell played at Midland College and in 1993 he became the conference medalist of the year. A year later, still playing for MC team, Chad encountered huge success when he became the WJCAC medalist, Region V Tournament medalist and the NJCAA Tournament medalist runner-up. In the same year that Campbell was rewarded by being selected an All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). In the final national poll of the NJCAA, he was listed as the number one player, which eventually resulted in Campbell winning a scholarship and transferring to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, two years later.

However, Chad’s professional career started in 1996, winning 13 tournaments on the second tier NGA Hookes Tour by the year 2000. He was also the leading money winner three times and left the tour as the leading money winner. His wealth continued to grow when Campbell played on the 2001 Web.com Tour and gained a “battlefield promotion”. He won three tournaments in order to earn a promotion to the elite PGA Tour, and Campbell’s success continued through the following years, as he won The Tour Championship in 2003 and finished as a runner-up at the PGA Championship. Therefore, Chad was in seventh place on the PGA Tour money list, and was among the top ten places of the Official World Golf Ranking in 2004. Three years later, he won the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic tournament, which promoted him to a higher position on the money list. In 2007, Chad secured his fourth PGA Tour victory at the Viking Classic tournament. When it comes to some of his more recent activities, he played the 2013-2014 season, but didn’t manage to graduate from the Web.com Tour Finals. For the season 2014-2015, Chad used his career money list exemption.
