Chadwick "Chad" Gaylord Smith net worth is $90 Million
Chadwick "Chad" Gaylord Smith Wiki Biography
Chadwick “Chad” Gaylord Smith was born on the 25th October 1961, in St. Paul, Minnesota USA. He is a musician, perhaps best known for being the drummer of rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and is considered to be one of rock music’s best drummers. He is also recognized as the drummer of the supergroup Chickenfoot, consisting of musicians such as Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani, as well as the drummer of his own band – Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatballs. His career has been active since 1988.
Have you ever wondered how rich Chad Smith is, as of mid-2016? It has been estimated according to authoritative sources that the overall size of Chad’s net worth is as high as $90 million, which has been accumulated through his successful career as a musician with several notable rock bands.
Chad Smith Net Worth $90 Million
Chad Smith was raised with two siblings in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; the youngest child born to Curtis and Joan Smith. At the age of seven he began playing drums under the influence of rock bands such as The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin among others. He attended Lahser High School, from which he matriculated in 1980. Soon after high school, Chad launched his musical career, playing drums for several local bands, including Toby Redd and Pharroh, whose percussionist Larry Fratangelo introduced him to funk on which he became more focused. Before the end of the 1980s, he joined famous funk-rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. The year he joined, the band had already been in the process of recording a new album, their fourth, which came out in 1989, entitled “Mother’s Milk”. The album received quite positive critiques, and what was more important, marked the beginning of a new age for the RCHP, as the album achieved platinum status, which increased Chad`s net worth by a large margin.
Ever since then, the band`s albums have peaked in the top 10 on the US Billboard chart, and topped the charts in countries such as Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Sweden, United Kingdom and New Zealand, among others. Their next album came out in 1991, entitled “Blood Sugar Sex Magik”, reaching No. 3 on the US Billboard chart, and it also achieved seven times platinum status with over seven million sales, which only increased further Chad`s net worth. Throughout the 1990s, the band`s popularity grew immensely, which was only confirmed with albums such as “One Hot Minute” (1995) and “Californication” (1999) achieving platinum status, the latter selling more than five million copies. With the beginning of the 2000s, band continued successfully, by releasing albums “By The Way” (2002), which reached sales of over two million, further increasing Chad`s net worth.
Their next album was the eponymous “Stadium Arcadium”, which topped the US Billboard chart, and reached No. 1 in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Sweden, and UK, which only added further Chad`s net worth. A the moment, Chad is working on the next RCHP`s album, “Getaway”, which is scheduled for a release on the 17th June 2016, and if we look back, there is a pattern which means that it will certainly increase Chad`s net worth. Apart from his work with the RHCP, Chad has collaborated with such artists as Glen Hughes, Johnny Cash, Sammy Haggar, and others, which was also a part of his income in the past.
Chad has also founded a band Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatbats, consisting of musicians Jeff Kollman, Kevin Chown, and Ed Roth, with which he has released three albums “Meet the Meatbats” (2009), “More Meat” (2010), and “Live Meat And Potatoes” (2012), which also represents a large part of his income.
Speaking about his personal life, Chad Smith has been married to architect Nancy Mack Smith since May of 2004; the couple has two children. Previously, he was in marriage with Maria St John from 1996 to 1997, with whom he has a son. In total, he is the father of five children; two of them are from his previous relationships. His current residence is in Malibu, California. Chad is also known for being a big philanthropist, as he works with a number of foundation and non-profit organizations, including Little Kids Rock, and Surfer’s Healing, among others.
Has two daughters and three sons. Daughter Manon St. John from his first marriage, and sons, Cole and Beckett, from his current marriage. Daughter Ava Cardoso-Smith and son Justin Smith are from previous relationships.
