Christina Grimmie (Singer) Net Worth $800,000
To begin with, Christina was raised in Marlton, New Jersey. She began to sing at the age of four, and to play the piano at the age of 10. From September 2010, Grimmie was homeschooled.
Concerning her professional career, the first video she uploaded to her account on YouTube was a cover of Miley Cyrus’ song “Don’t Wanna Be Torn”, but Grimmie became known through a video with singer Sam Tsui, in which both of them covered the song “Just a Dream” by Nelly, viewed more than 144 million times on the channel of producer Kurt Hugo Schneider, and over 19 million times on Grimmie’s own channel on the YouTube video platform. It has had more than 370 million video views, from a base of 3.5 million subscribers, built-up from the time of its launch in February 2009, and which received several awards from the YouTube platform. In the middle of 2011, her first album “Find Me” was marketed via iTunes, shortly after her first single “Advice” was first presented on Radio Disney. In the second half of the year, she toured with Selena Gomez.
Grimmie really came to notice when she took part in the sixth season of the American version of “The Voice” in 2014, finishing in third place coinciding with her second EP “Side A” release.
After a concert on the evening of 10th June 2016 in Orlando, Florida, Grimmie was attacked at a Meet & Greet by 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl from Saint Petersburg, who shot several times and injured her in the head. Her brother Marcus knocked the shooter to the ground, but the latter was able to free and shoot himself. Christina was taken to a local hospital, where her death was reported at 11 pm local time. She was buried at a private ceremony in her hometown of Marlton in New Jersey, and the next day, thousands of friends and fans attended a public ceremony to honour her at the Alliance Chapel Fellowship in Medford. The motive for the attack could not be fully explained; police initially assumed that the perpetrator was mentally confused, but referred to the pending evaluation of the shooter’s telephone and computer, which could have provided further information. In 2016, the movie “The Matchbreaker” in which Christina plays a major role, was posthumously released. In April 2017, her family released another EP called “Side B”, containing four more songs that Grimmie had already recorded, and a remixed version of her song “I Will Not Give Up” which she sang in “The Voice”. The single “Invisible” was released on 16th February 2017. In 2017, Grimmie’s family released the album “All is Vanity” with ten songs; including three from “Side B”.
Finally, in the personal life of the singer, she was single. From a religious point of view, Christina was a Christian.
