Christopher is the fourth child in the family out of eight. He went to John F. Kennedy High School from which he matriculated in 1974, after which he enrolled at San Jose State University, and three years later graduated with a BS degree in criminal justice administration. He furthered his education at the University of California, Hastings, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1980.

In the summer that year he passed the California Bar Exam, but was unemployed for a couple of months, before finding a job at the National Labor Relations Board in Los Angeles. However, he wasn’t quite satisfied with his position and work on the whole, and soon applied to join the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He was assigned to the Huntington Park office, but was soon transferred to Beverly Hills, and eventually to the Criminal Courts Building, located in downtown Los Angeles in 1983.

For the next five years, Christopher worked for the CCB, usually on the central trials and hard-core gang units. Then in 1988, he was transferred to the Special Investigation Division (SID), which is focused on investigating criminal activities by public and law enforcement officials. Thanks to his successful work, in 1994 he was brought up to the O.J. Simpson murder case by Deputy District Attorneys William Hodgman and Marcia Clark, initially serving as the lead prosecutor for the hearing of Al Cowlings, but was later made co-prosecutor for the whole case. This engagement brought him national attention and certainly increased his net worth to a large degree. Unfortunately, after Simpson was found not guilty, Christopher left law practice, and joined California State University, Los Angeles, teaching undergraduate criminal law. The same year he was appointed as Associate Professor of Law at Southwestern University School of Law, which further increased his net worth.

In 1999 he left his University positions, and started his own law firm Darden & Associates, which specializes in criminal defense and civil litigation.

Christopher is also known for his legal contribution to such TV channels as CNBC, CNN, NBC, Fox News Network and others, while also appearing on such shows as “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “The Howard Stern Show” and others.

Darden is also a writer, and has authored several crime novels, including “The Trials of Nikki Hill” (1999), and “LA Justice” (2000), while he also wrote a non-fiction volume about the O. J. Simpson trial “In Contempt” (1996); this have also significantly increased his wealth.
