The Indiana Pacers selected Kellogg as the 8th overall pick in the 1982 NBA Draft, and he was an instant hit after averaging over 20 points and ten rebounds per game, securing a place in the NBA All-Rookie Team. Clark was dubbed to become the next NBA superstar, and even Converse signed a deal with him, but knee problems forced him to retire from basketball after playing only three full seasons.
