His career in the entertainment industry started by performing with the improv group called On the Spot in Montreal. He made his television debut in the mid-’90s, appearing in series such as “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” and “The Hunger”, as well as in television films including “Texas Graces” and “A Prayer In the Dark”. His film debut came with the 1996 “Rowing Through”, and by the end of the decade, he had landed recurring roles in the miniseries “More Tales of the City” and “Cover Me”, and played Tom De Lury in the romantic comedy film “The Opposite of Sex”, paving his way to recognition, and his net worth to grow too.

In 2000 Ferguson was cast in the short-lived ABC sitcom “Then Came You”, playing the role of Lewis Peters, which greatly contributed to his popularity and to his wealth as well.
