Fuentes travelled around at a young age, moving from Havana to Madrid, Spain. There she learned English and eventually moved to New Jersey where she attended Harrison High School. During her senior year she was already modelling, though she aspired to be a hairstylist. She enrolled in a cosmetology school and studied at Bergen Community College. Eventually, she was hired as a weather girl for WNJU-TV, and later was given the opportunity to become an anchor and reporter for an affiliate of Univision.
During 1988, Daisy was hired by MTV to host “MTV Internacional”, a Spanish music show that aired both in Latin America and the United States. In 1993, she would officially become a VJ (video jockeys) for MTV, the first Latina to do so. Thus began her rise in net worth, becoming the host for shows like “House Of Style” and then later getting acting jobs for “Loving”, “Dream On” and “Sybill”. A year after becoming a VJ for MTV she started her own talk show called “Daisy”, and then also became a co-host for “America’s Funniest Home Videos”. She started hosting award shows, like the 1998 World Music Awards, 1999 Billboard Awards, and even hosted pageants like Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe. In the year 2000, she had a guest appearance in the series “Queen Of Swords”. One of Fuentes’ latest works is on “La Voz Kids”, a Spanish version of “The Voice: Kids”.
Aside from her numerous appearances on television, Daisy became well known for being seen on many magazine covers, and in television ads, working for companies like Revlon, Pantene, and M&Ms. In 2004, she released her own clothing line and around five years later she released “Daisy Fuentes Style Pro” which is her hair care line. She also signed for a licensing deal with Zyloware to make prescription eye-wear marketed as a Latina prescription eye-wear collection for women.
For her personal life, it is known that Daisy was married to actor Timothy Adams from 1991 to 1995. After that she dated Luis Miguel for three years, eventually breaking up during 1998. She also dated Matt Goss and they were briefly engaged in 2003. She recently married singer Richard Marx, in 2015.
