Dan was born to Evelyn and John Dierdorf, and went to Glenwood High School (now Glen Oak High School) in his home town. During his teenage years, he excelled at sports including, apart from American Football obviously, the shot put and discus throw. Dan attended the University of Michigan where he joined its Michigan Wolverines team. During his college career, he earned several honors such as All-Big Ten, All-America as well as participating in the Hula Bowl, East-West Shrine and College All-Star games. All these achievements helped Dan Dierdorf to establish himself as a promising young player which later helped him to earn considerable wealth.

Upon graduation, Dierdorf turned pro when he was drafted as pick No. 43 overall in the second round of the 1971 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. During the next several years, he became the fixture of the team’s offense, and in 1974 was selected for the Pro Bowl game, and between 1975 and 1978 he was four times consecutively named to both the Pro Bowl and First Team All-Pro. It is certain that all these accomplishments helped Dan Dierdorf to massively boost his popularity and net worth as well.

After suffering a severe knee injury in the early stages of the 1979 season, and skipping all of the remaining games, Dan returned on the pitch in 1980, and was later chosen for his sixth and last Pro Bowl appearance. In October 1983, he announced his official retirement from professional playing. However, although he left the filed, he did not leave American Football – between 1984 and 1988, he served as CBS’s color analyst for his former team, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Missouri Tigers as well. Doubtlessly, all these achievements made a contribution to Dan Dierdorf’s wealth.

In addition to all those mentioned above, between 1987 and 1999, Dan was a broadcaster for ABC’s Monday Night Football program, and served as a commentator for Super Bowl XXII in 1988 and Super Bowl XXIX in 1995. Between 1999 and 2013 he was a CBS commentator and analyst, while since 2014, Dan has been serving as a color analyst and a radio broadcaster for the Michigan Wolverines. In 2000 he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, while in 2001 he became the member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. All these ventures have increased Dan Dierdorf’s net worth too.

When it comes to his personal life, Dan has married twice – from his first marriage he has a son and a daughter, while since the early 1980s he has been married to Debbie, with whom he has welcomed two daughters.
