Darren Stanley Hayes was born on the 8th May 1972, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and is a singer, composer and music producer, who became famous as the vocalist of the band Savage Garden, formed alongside musician and composer Daniel Jones. After the end of the duo in 2001, the singer continued with a solo career, having released four studio albums until the present moment. Hayes has been active in the entertainment industry since 1993.
How much is the net worth of Darren Hayes? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the overall size of his wealth is as much as $20 million, as of the data given in the middle of 2017. Music is the main source of Hayes fortune.
Darren Hayes Net Worth $20 Million
To begin with, the boy was raised in Brisbane, Australia, the youngest of three children. At the age of 5five he began to sing. He wanted to be a teacher until he met Daniel Jones. He did play in some musical performances of his high school: “Man of Steel” in 1988 and “Bye Bye Birdie” in 1989. Hayes and Jones met in 1993 – the latter was indeed looking for a singer for his band Red Edge, and Hayes quickly became the singer of the group.
Darren Hayes became known as a front man and singer of the Australian pop duo Savage Garden, which has set the record of the Best Selling Australian Act Ever. At that time, they had worldwide hits such as “To the Moon & Back” (1996), “I Knew I Loved You” (1999), “Truly Madly Deeply” (1997) and others. In 2001, the band split up, and shortly afterwards, Hayes began a solo career with his debut album “Spin” (2002). In the autumn of 2004, his second solo album “The Tension and the Spark” was released. In 2006, Hayes announced his separate from his record company, and made future releases under his own label.
The first single of his third solo album – “On the Verge of Something Wonderful” – was released in the middle of 2007, produced with the help of, among others, Justin Shave and Robert Conley. It should be said that other famous names appeared in the production, including Guy Chambers, after which Hayes went on the road with his album on the “The Time Machine Tour”. In 2008, Hayes completed the work with “This Delicate Film We’ve Made”, a collection of animated videos of selected tracks from the album “This Delicate Thing We’ve Made”; the singer worked with Richard Cullen (Pixelfing) and Damien Hale. In the middle of 2011, the album “Talk Talk Talk” was released, further helping the rise of his net worth.
In 2014, Darren began a short series of podcasts of radio programs on the internet, entitled “Talk Talk Talk”. Between January and August 2014, Hayes was a columnist for the English magazine Attitude. In 2015, the singer released a new series of weekly podcasts on the internet entitled “The He Said He Said Show”, starring alongside comedian Tim Stanton. In 2016, Darren closed his radio podcast series, however, the singer and producer also announced a new video podcasting with the comedian entitled “Going Dark: A Sith Story”, a comedy inspired by the Star Wars movie series. In 2016, Hayes also released a new series of comedy podcasting videos, entitled “We Paid To See This”, and by the middle of 2017, the series had reached its 51st episode.
Finally, in the personal life of Hayes, he was married to the makeup artist Colby Taylor. The couple separated in 1998 and divorced in 1999. Darren Hayes currently lives in London with Richard Cullen, his companion since 2004 with whom he entered into a civil partnership in the middle of 2006 before marrying him in July 2013 in California.

Quote
1
[on Peter Gabriel] This man has been such an inspiration to me in my career. His voice and his ability to cut me down with his lyrics is just astounding.
2
[on the album "Achtung Baby" by U2] The perfect balance of earnest sincerity and sarcastic megalomania.
3
[on "Tusk" by Fleetwood Mac] Today I consider this record to be possibly my favorite record of all time. It's a double album and contains all of the experimentation and lack of focus that a good double record should.
