Dave attended Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, Virginia, where he was the leader of the “punk tribe” and also one of the founding members and the frontman of Death Piggy, hardcore punk band in 1982. The band led by Dave released their debut extended play “Love War” in 1983. Subsequently, they came to prominence after Dave introduced the idea of wearing monster costumes during their performances. This success was followed with another two studio albums, “Death Rules the Fairway” and “R45”, which were released in 1984 and 1985 respectively. These ventures provided the basis for Dave Brockie’s net worth.

In 1984, Brockie alongside several friends founded the hardcore punk/heavy metal band – Gwar. The band’s original lineup consisted of Dave and Steve Douglas on guitars, Chris Bopst as a bassist, Jim Thomson on drums and Ben Eubanks as a vocalist. As they kept the idea of performing in costumes and under heavy make-up, using various props on stage, Hunter Jackson served as behind-the-stage member who provided it all. After several line-up changes and rotations, Dave Brockie became the leading vocalist of Gwar, and performed under the name Oderus Urungus. Their debut album “Hell-O” released in 1988 was followed by “Scumdog of the Universe” which hit the charts in 1990, featuring the song “Sick of You” which soon became one of the most performed songs in their concerts. In 1994, Gwar’s third studio album “This Toilet Earth” managed to replicate the success of its previous releases. It is certain that all these accomplishments helped Dave Brockie to dramatically enlarge his net worth.

From then on, Dave Brockie and his Gwar, although with several crew variations and changes, released nine more studio albums, 13 in total of which the commercially most successful were “Carnival of Chaos” (1997), “War Party” (2004), “Lust in Space” (2009) with hit singles such as “Don’t Need a Man”, “We Kill Everything”, “The Song of Words”, as well as “Fistful of Teeth”, “School’s Out” and “Battle Maximus” among many. Besides these, Gwar also released two compilation albums as well as a dozen DVD videos of their songs and tours. Doubtlessly, all these achievements made a huge impact on Dave Brockie’s net worth.

Apart from Gwar, Dave was also involved in X-Cops, an independent side project of several of Gwar’s members, as well as his eponymous band – Dave Brockie Experience. As Oderus Urungus, Dave appeared in FEARnet cable’s TV horror sitcom “Holliston”.

Speaking about Dave Brockie’s personal life, there are no any relevant data. He passed away on 23 March 2014 in his home in Richmond at the age of 50, after a heroin overdose.
