David Crane was born on the 13th August 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, and is of Jewish ancestry. He is a writer and producer, best known for creating several popular sitcoms, including “Friends” (1994-2004), “Class” (2006-2007), and most recently “Episodes” (2011-present). He has been an active member of the entertainment industry since the 1990s.
Have you ever wondered how rich David Crane is, as of mid-2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of David`s net worth is $200 million, an amount he has acquired through his successful career in the entertainment industry, not only as a writer, but also as a producer of several popular TV series.
David Crane Net Worth $200 Million
David grew up in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, where he went to Harriton High School. He is the son of respected news reporter and anchor Gene Crane, who worked at the WCAU channel, and Joan Crane, who was Gene`s first wife. After David matriculated from high school, he enrolled at Brandeis University, from which he graduated with a BA degree, and where he met Marta Kauffman, starting a lifelong friendship.
Upon his college graduation, Crane teamed up with his friend and soon-to-be colleague Marta Kauffman, and created a sitcom entitled “Dream On”, which lasted from 1990 until 1996, however, during the time “Dream On” was aired, David and Marta began developing a new sitcom, “Friends”, which eventually turned out to be one of the most successful comedies in US TV history, eventually increasing David`s net worth by a large margin. Together with Marta he created other successful series such as “The Powers That Be” (1992-1993), “Family Album” (1993), in addition with Kevin Bright, “Veronica`s Closet” (1997-2000), and “Joey” (2004-2006), which is a spin-off of the series “Friends”, featuring Matt LeBlanc in the leading role.
To speak further of his accomplishments, David has also created TV series “Class” (2006-2007), with his life partner Jeffrey Klarik, and “Episodes”, also with Jeffrey. The “Episodes” turned out to be quite successful, and it is currently in its fourth season, however, a sixth season is announced, and will began to air in 2017. Apart from his work on TV series, David has also created several musicals, also with Marta Kauffman, including “Arthur”, and they also composed lyrics for the musical “Personals”, increasing further his net worth. Thanks to his talents, David has received numerous prestigious nominations and awards, including 11 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and one win for his TV series “Friends”. Furthermore, he received the two WGA Awards nominations for his work on TV series “Episodes”, and he also won the People’s Choice Award in the category Favorite Television Comedy.
David was also rewarded with the Writers Guild of America West`s Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television Writing Achievement, alongside Marta Kauffman. When it comes to his personal life, little is known about David in the media, except the fact that he is in a long-term relationship with Jeffrey Klarik.
