Anderson`s early life and education were not particularly notable – as with many young men, he had a general interest in cars and trucks, but then his career began in 1981, when he had built his first monster truck, called Grave Digger. The truck was used firstly as a mud bogger, however he got the chance to use it for destroying cars at a local show, after one contestant didn`t show up. He was quite successful in the event, and decided to rebuild his truck to a full monster-truck.

Since entering the full competition in 1986, Dennis has become one of the greatest monster-truck drivers in the history of the sport. In the first few years he only competed in the TNT Motor Sports organized events, and in 1988 came his first victory, against Bigfoot in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The next year he switched trucks, taking the 1950 Chevrolet panel van body; with the new truck came popularity, as TNT started to take notice of Dennis, and promote him by selecting him for races aired on several TV stations, such as ESPN.

However, the new truck didn`t last long, as he built Grave Digger 3 in 1990, and in 1991 he started competing in the UHRA, as the TNT became a part of the association.

Seven years later, Dennis got into a money crisis because of his poor results and constant truck building, and he was forced to sell his team rights to SRO/Pace, which were the owners of the racing association. Since then, his career has improved, and he’s won several titles. In 1999 he lifted his trophy of the USHRA series, which added a lot to his net worth. His next title came in 2004, when he became the USHRA series racing champion, a feat he repeated in 2006 and 2010, increasing further his net worth.

Known for his aggressive driving, which is described as full throttle until he wins or busts his vehicle, Dennis earned a nickname, One-Run Anderson, which still follows him. In fact, he has built 30 Grave Diggers so far, as he is prone to crashing them, which probably limits the rise of his net worth.

Because of the crashes and accidents, Dennis has been injured a number of times during his career; he has broken his kneecap, several ribs, wrists, and shoulder, among other broken bones.
Regarding his personal life, there is little information about him in the media; apart from the fact that he has two sons, nothing more is known about Dennis.
