He’s had numerous hits, and all of his endeavors have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Dion DiMucci? As of late-2016, sources estimate a net worth that is at $5 million, mostly earned through a successful career in the music industry, being responsible for the hit singles “The Wanderer” and “Runaround Sue” in particular. As a child, Dion often joined his father touring as a vaudeville entertainer, and he found an interest for country music. His influences would then increase to blues and doo-wop as he grew up. He continued to develop his voice and later auditioned for the newly formed Mohawk Records in 1957. This would lead to his first single entitled “The Chosen Few” by Dion and the Timberlanes, a group he never met.

Eventually Dion formed a group with his friends called the Belmonts, and he became the lead. In 1958, they released “I Wonder Why” which would make it to 22nd spot on the US charts. They continued to make hits including “No One Knows” and “A Teenager in Love” which reached fifth spot on the US pop charts. The Belmont’s biggest hit would come with “Where or When” which reached the third spot on the charts, but then in 1960 Dion had to be hospitalized because of heroin addiction. From then, problems started forming in the group and they had less success, prompting Dion to quit and start his own career.

He released the solo album “Alone with Dion” which had the hit “Lonely Teenager”, but then started performing with the vocal group the Del-Satins which would help him create the record “Runaround Sue”, which reached top of the US Charts and many others – the song would sell over a million copies and was certified gold. He continued this success with “The “Wanderer” which is still popularly used today.

After appearing in various tours, Dion appeared in the film “Twist Around the Clock”, and would continue to produce albums. He became the first rock ‘n’ roll artist signed to Columbia Records, releasing “Ruby Baby” and “Drip Drop”. However, his success started to decline, coupled with the fact that he was still dealing with drug addiction.

He then started releasing more blues-oriented music, and briefly reunited with The Belmonts for “Together Again” which was not successful. They then appeared on the “Clay Cole Show”, and Dion was featured in the album cover of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” by the Beatles. After getting freed from his addiction, he then tried his hand at a record contract in 1970, which led to the hit “Abraham, Martin & John”. After being converted to a born-again Christian, he started releasing Christian music during the 1980s. He created his autobiography in 1988, entitled “The Wanderer: Dion’s Story”.

He returned to rock music in 1989, creating the album “Yo Frankie” which had appearances from various artists including Bryan Adams and Patty Smyth. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the same year, and would return to Catholicism. Some of his most recent works include “Deja Nu” and being inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2015, he was still touring, and released the single “New York Is My Home”.

For his personal life, Dion is married to Susan, and they have three daughter; they live in Boca Raton, Florida. It is known that Dion almost went on the same flight in 1959 that killed Buddy Holly and other performers. According to an interview, he views his life today as a rock ‘n’ roll redemption story.
