Dylan grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, and during his teens started getting involved in acting through regional theatre productions. He attended his education at Holy Cross Regional Catholic School, and later went to Darlington School before matriculating from Georgetown Preparatory School in 1976. After matriculating, he attended the College of William and Mary, later moving to the Southern Methodist University, and graduating in 1980. Afterwards, he pursued a Masters in Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama.

In 1986, Baker started to move forward with his acting career, appearing in numerous productions on Broadway, including “God of Carnage”, Mauritius”, and “Not About Heroes” which he won an Obie Award. More opportunities opened up for him, giving him the opportunity to increase his net worth. The following year, he made his film debut in “Planes, Trains and Automobiles”, and was also cast in his first recurring television role in the hit show “Murder One”. Since then he’s made guest appearances in “Law & Order”, “The West Wing”, and “Without a Trace”.

In 1998, Dylan received a lot of acclaim for his performance in “Happiness”, in which he played a tormented pedophile. Two years later, he was cast in “Thirteen Days” before roles in “Requiem for a Dream” and “Road to Perdition”. In 2007, he was a part of the series “Drive”, however it was short-lived, but he then made a guest appearance in “Monk” and also had a role in the series “Kings”, all adding steadily to his net worth.
