Born Edward James Stafford on the 26th December 1975, in Peterborough, England, Ed is an explorer, probably best known to the world for being the first human ever to walk the entire length of the Amazon River, as well as for hosting shows on the Discovery Channel.

He started his journey along the Amazon River in 2008 and for the next 860 days documented his journey from the Amazon’s source in the Andes to the Atlantic Ocean. He deliberately detailed his whole trip, which later brought him fame, and fortune as well, as his whole journey was aired on Channel 5 in the show “Walking the Amazon” in 2011, which certainly contributed significantly to his net worth. He has also published several books which detail several of his activities.

After the series ended, Discovery Channel took him under its wing, and started a number of survival-type serie,s with Ed as the star of those shows. Following the end of his Amazon River expedition, Ed started searching for his biological parents, as he says ‘…just to find out…’. With the help of his adoptive sister, Janie, Ed managed to find his biological family and discovered that he has two younger brothers.
