The younger daughter born to Steven Rigby and his wife, Carole, Emma grew up in her hometown with her older sister, Charlotte. She went to De La Salle High School, from which she matriculated with 9 A grades at GCSE.

Emma’s career started in 2003 when she got the part of Lisa Gunstone in the TV series “Born and Bred”, but then waited four years for another role, meantime completing her education, but the wait eventually paid-off, as she was chosen for the part of Hannah Ashworth in the popular British soap opera “Hollyoaks”, which earned her British Soap Award in the category of Best Actress, and was also nominated in the categories for Sexiest Female, Best Dramatic Performance, and Best Storyline. The particular role launched her to stardom, and increased her net worth to a large degree, but in 2010 she decided to leave the highly-acclaimed series and pursue other projects.

She continued her career with the part of Brandy Mulligan in the TV fantasy comedy-drama series “Becoming Human” in 2011, while also featuring in the horror film “Demons Never Die”. She came to prominence again in 2013 when she was chosen for the part of the Red Queen/ Anastasia in the TV fantasy drama adventure series “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”, starring next to Sophia Lowe, Michael Socha and Peter Gadiot, which increased her net worth to a large degree. The same year, she played Rebecca in the historical drama “The Physician”, with Tom Payne, Stellan Skarsgard and Olivier Martinez, and continued with a role in the romantic drama film “Endless Love” in 2014, plus had a supporting role in the comedy film “Plastic”, the same year, adding steadily to her net worth.

In recent years, Emma starred in the television film “A Cinderella Christmas” in 2016, alongside Peter Porte and Sarah Stouffer, and in the romantic comedy film “Hollywood Dirt”, with Johann Urb and Randy Capes, which added a considerable amount to her net worth. She is now working on the comedy film “The Festival”, which is scheduled for release late in 2018, and another romantic comedy film “A Guide to Second Date Sex”, which is currently in post-production and is awaiting its release date.

Aside from acting, Emma has also been successful in modeling; back in 2010 she did a campaign with Rory Lewis, and was featured in his Portrait Photograph Exhibition entitled “Northerners”.

When it comes to her personal life, Emma has been seen with a couple of celebrities since entering the world of entertainment, including Mathew Mills and Aston Merrygold, but is now primarily focused on her acting career, and keeps her private life exactly that!

In philanthropic efforts, Emma also serves as an ambassador for CAFOD, a Catholic aid agency for England and Wales.
