He started playing keyboard at the age of three, and composed his first song when he was five. The prodigy then featured on many national and international TV programs, making his PBS National Television Concert debut in 2010, and becoming the youngest ever participant at the age of nine.
He sang Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive”, Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World”, the Beatles’ “Let It Be”, and Little Richard’s “Good Golly Miss Molly”. Bortnick also introduced his original compositions, and interviewed Quincy Jones in the DVD version of the show. Bortnick toured in New York City in Times Square, Philadelphia, Chicago Area, Los Angeles, and many other cities on the west coast and around the rest of the US during his National Headlining Tour 2010/2011.
In July 2011, Bortnick had a performance in THE Hilton, Las Vegas, once again the youngest headliner, this time in the history of the city, having two sold-out concerts on the 22nd and 23rd July.
