Francia was interested in dancing from when she was only five years old, beginning dance lessons even at that age, and so eventually managing to excel in jazz, aerobatics, tap dancing, hip hop and Polynesian dance. Although not content with all that, she also took karate and ice skating lessons. Francia attended Bishop Alemany High School, and keen to pursue her dancing interests and showcase her talents in school, Francia was a member of the school´s cheer-leading squad, but it was her time in middle school that truly ignited her passion for acting.
While still in school, Francia began auditioning for acting roles, managing to land several commercial and print ad gigs. Before her breakthrough role in the film, “Bring It On: All or Nothing”, in 2006 while just a month into her senior year, Francia impressed audiences worldwide with her roles in the sitcoms “American Family: Journey of Dreams”, and “Over There”. From then onwards, the role offers started flooding in, and she went on to star in the 2007 Nickelodeon movie, “Shredderman Rules”, and in 2008 and ’10, the two movie “The Cutting Edge: Chasing the Dtream” and “The Cutting Edge: Fire and Ice”, so very quickly establishing her net worth.¨
However, it was her portrayal of the character, Adrian Lee, in the successful ABC Family drama, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” in over 120 episodes from July 2008 to June 2013 that truly catapulted her into super-stardom; in the year 2011, she was even bestowed a Gracie Allen Award for Outstanding Female Rising Star in a Drama Series for her performance in the role. That year has undoubtedly been Francia´s most successful to date.
Francia has been busy ever since, including various guest-starring roles in “CSI” and “The Mindy Project”, but more prominently in TV films “Christmas Bounty” and “Hit the Floor”, plus most recently in “Gown-ish” in the leading role of Ana, scheduled for a 2018 release, all contributing steadily to her rising net worth.
Francia also keeps herself busy by working on her Kickstarter project. She regularly promotes her portable wrinkle-resistant dress on various social media platforms, plus the actress also presently serves as the host of “WTFrancia” on Main Stage on Dash Radio.
In her personal life, Francia lives in her humble abode in Los Angeles; she was engaged to Hosea Chanchez in 2013, but didn’t proceed any further. She is also known to have been in relationships with Shane Sparks (2006 – 2009) and Romeo Miller (2010 – 2012).
Although her acting commitments manage to take most of her hours, she continues dancing, even enrolling herself into weekly advance classes at a dance studio in Hollywood. When she is not out and about furthering her acting career, she invests her time raising awareness on pressing issues such as the empowerment of women, sex trafficking, hunger, and domestic violence. Most impressively, in 2017 her friend Selena Gomez needed a kidney, the result of suffering from lupus – Francia promptly obliged!
Francia definitely does her bit to inspire her loyal legions of fans worldwide.
