Garrett Morris was brought up by his grandfather, who worked as a Baptist minister. From a very young age he was interested in music and became a member of the church choir, and attended the Juilliard School of Music to perfect his singing voice. Later, he enrolled at Dillard University, from which he graduated in 1958. At the beginning of career, Morris performed with The Belafonte Folk Singers, which led to his involvement in Broadway musicals such as “Hallelujah Baby!”, and “Ain`t Supposed To Die A Natural Death”, a good start to his net worth.

In 1971, he switched his talents to acting, appearing in the film “The Anderson Tapes”, and afterwards was cast in the TV series “Roll Out” (1973-1974). Before he was subsequently chosen for “Saturday Night Live”, Garrett appeared in the film “Cooley High” (1975). The same year, “SNL” started, and he was the one of the original members of the cast. During his tenure with “SNL”, which lasted for five years until 1980, Garrett created portrayed numerous characters, which included Chico Escuela, Grant Robinson Jr., Cliff, and Hodo. He also did numerous impressions of celebrities such as Bob Marley, Martin Luther King, Jr., James Brown, Muhammad Ali, Richard Pryor, Ella Fitzgerald, and many others. The show contributed steadily to his net worth.

After he left “SNL”, it wasn`t hard for Garrett to find another engagement in the entertainment industry, thanks to the popularity he had gained,. His first role was in the film “How To Beat High Co$t Living” (1980), and two years later, he earned a part in the TV series ‘The Jeffersons” (1983-1984). In 1984, Garrett was featured in the TV series “It`s Your Move” (1984-1985), and two years after he was chosen for the role of Sporty James in the TV series “Hunter” (1986-1989).

Some of the titles of film and series include “Roc” (1991-1992), “Martin” (1992-1995), “Cleghorne” (1995), “Santa With Muscles” (1996), “Black Rose OF Harlem” (1996), “Jamie Fox Show” (1996-2001) “Black Scorpion II” (1997), “Twin Falls Idaho” (1999), and others, all of which added to his net worth.

The beginning of the 2000s changed nothing for Garrett, only the amount of his overall net worth, and the number of his roles. In 2001, he was cast in the film “Jackpot”, as Lester Irving, which was followed by roles in films “How High” (2001), “Connecting Dots” (2003), “The Salon” (2005), “How`s Your Caddy” (2007), “Dog Gene” (2008), “The Longshots” (2008), “Valley Of The Sun” (2011), “Let Go” (2011). In 2011, Garrett was chosen for the role of Earl in the TV series “2 Broke Girls”, which is airing still, and which has become the main source of his net worth in recent years.

Recently Morris has also appeared in films such as “Ant-Man” (2015) and “Freeloaders” (2012), and he will appear in the film “Big Finish”, which is scheduled for a 2016 release, and which should also increase his overall net worth, which also benefits from his comedy shows, as he currently runs his own comedy club “The Downtown Comedy Club”, in Los Angeles, California.
