To begin with, Gary Dellabate was born in a large family and grew up on Long Island. He was educated at Adelphi University, earning recognition as the recipient of the Richard F. Clemo Award. Gary did his internship in a few radio stations including WNBC and WLIR. As an intern, he was introduced to Howard Stern and this evolved into a very successful career which added much financially to Gary Dellabate’s net worth.

In 1984, Gary began his career in the previously mentioned show. At the beginning, his duties included scheduling guests of the show and getting lunch for Howard Stern. He was nicknamed Baba Booey as he made a mistake while pronouncing the name of an animation character Baba Looey. Since then the nickname accompanied him throughout his career, and Baba Booey was used as some sort of mantra or folk wisdom by the fans of the show. Even the professional wrestler Jake Herbert yelled that phrase to the camera during the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, when the camera focused on the team of USA.

To add more, Dellabate’s autobiography used the nickname too – “They Call Me Baba Booey” (2010). Working as a producer of the show, Gary Dellabate booked such well known celebrities as Jerry Seinfeld, Sting, Demi Moore and others. He is known to be a very hard-working, intelligent and collaborative producer, which also is a huge part of the show’s success.

Additionally, Dellabate himself became a very popular celebrity, and has participated in various television shows as a guest. He has been seen in “VH1’s Rock”, “Hollywood Squares”, “60 Minutes” and others. More, he participated in the television game “Roll Jeopardy”, and won it. Appearing in the role of himself he appeared in the biographical comedy film “Private Parts” (1997) directed by Betty Thomas. This also added to the net worth of Gary Dellabate.

Gary serves as the president of the charity organization LIFEbeat – The Music Industry Fights AIDS. He became involved in the charity in memory of his late brother Steven, who passed away suffering from AIDS.

Concerning the private life of Gary Dellabate, has been married to Mary Coracciolo since 1992, and the family has two children. He is a keen supporter of New York baseball and hockey teams, even throwing the most disastrous opening pitch one year – much to fans amusement of course.
