Genie Francis Net Worth $5 Million

Genie Francis was raised with two brothers and a half-sister in Long Island, New York by actors Rosemary Daley and Ivor Francis. Influenced from an early age by her parents, it was only natural for Genie to follow their footsteps, and so it was, with Genie making her debut in 1976 in the TV series “Family”, but the following year she made her breakthrough when she was castas Laura in the soap opera “General Hospital” (1977-2016), and so far she has appeared in 270 episodes, which has become the main source of her net worth, and helped enormously in building her career. Until the end of the 1970s, she stayed focused on the series, but in 1982 landed her next role in the film “Bare Essence”, which was made into a TV series the following year, increasing further her net worth.
Her next role came in 1985 in the TV series “North And South”, reprising her role in “North And South, Book II” (1986), and “Heaven & Hell: North & South, Book III” (1994).

With the beginning of a new decade she was selected for the role of Ceara Connor Hunter in the popular TV series “All My Children”. After her stint in the series ended in 1992, she started to look for new engagements, and in 1993 she featured in the film “Perry Mason: The Case of the Killer Kiss”.
She didn`t have any major appearances for quite some time, but returned with the major role of Peyton Macgruder in the film “The Note” (2007), and four years later she was selected for the role of Geneieve Atkinson in the soap opera “Young And Restless”, appearing in the show until 2012, which also added a lot to her net worth.

Thanks to her skills, Genie has received several prestigious nominations and awards, including the Daytime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on “General Hospital”. For the same TV series she won the Young Artist Award in the category of Best Young Actress in Daytime TV Series, and Soap Opera Digest Award in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress – all helped her career and net worth.
When it comes to speak about her personal life, Genie Francis has been married to actor and director Jonathan Frakes since 1988; the couple has two children. In free time, she is known for her charity work, as she is a spokesperson for the Medifast Diet, and has also donated a part of hwer income from the sales of her album “It’s Christmas Time Again”, to the Sisters of Saint Francis Children’s Mission in Cuernavaca.

1We hadn't worked together in four years. Soon as we looked into each other's eyes, it was right back there. So I've had a wonderful time. There's nothing I like better than doing a love story, and there's nothing better than doing a love story with Tony (Anthony Geary).
2It was great. We always work well together and we enjoy working together. Just the fact that we are together raises the bar in both of our minds. We both want to be on top of our game because we've got a lot to live up to. I know Tony feels that way and I feel that way. Fortunately for us, that chemistry was still there - which was a terrific relief to me! Apparently it's still very much alive for both of us. We're a good team.
3"Gloria [Monty] put sex and romance into Laura's life and it bowled me over. Here I was doing things in front of 20 million people that I had never done in my own life. It certainly speeded up my growth process." TV Guide August 26th 1980.
4That's what it's about for me now: my children and my husband, you know? That's the dream. And I got it - Intimate Portrait: Genie Francis (2001), November 2001.
5I think my career would have gone further had I not reacquainted myself with Laura. But I'm sure there's some reason why I needed to be here. This is like a huge family to me. It's been a great place to be, lots of love and support in this building. I'm very grateful for that.

6"I can't really say a permanent goodbye to General Hospital (1963), because it's just too painful. I don't really know. There would have to be some kind of clarity about equality. There would have to be some resolution for me."
  • TV Guide, September 2002.
