Soon after, he would form the band the Delaware Destroyers which would also become well known as the Destroyers; their music was a mix of rock and Chicago blues which was a sound they developed. They started performing at the University of Delaware, and then made their first record “George Thorogood & The Destroyers”. The band would prove to be successful, and helped establish Rounder Records. They would release a total of 16 studio albums with five of them certifying gold. They also have six live albums with their first live album certifying platinum. Their second platinum album would be their 1992 compilation album “The Baddest of George Thorogood and the Destroyers”.
