She also stars in the soap opera “The Young and the Restless” in which she plays Phyllis Summers. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

In 1991, Tognoni won the beauty pageant Miss Rhode Island Teen USA, and would follow it up with another win two years later at Miss Rhode Island Teen All-American. She was originally set to attend Emerson College, but then decided to fully pursue a career in acting.

Gina started her career in soap operas, making her debut in 1995’s “One Life to Live” which was aired through ABC; she played the character Kelly Cramer and would stay in the show for six years, winning an Emmy Award later in its run, and would go on to continue its run until 2013. Gina decided not to renew her contract with the series, and instead would continue her work on daytime television in 2004, when she became a part of the CBS series “Guiding Light” in which she played Dinah Marler. She won her first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2006 thanks to her performance. She would win the award again in 2008 after losing the previous year, becoming only the second actress to be a repeat winner in that category. “Guiding Light” is listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest running drama on television in American history, starting in 1952 and ending in 2009. Gina would become a part of the series until its eventual cancellation. Her net worth was increasing significantly at this point.

Tognoni then briefly returned to her role in “One Life to Live” as Kelly Cramer while working on finding a new soap opera role. After the 2011 cancellation of the show, she then found more work as a guest star, appearing in “The Sopranos” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”. She also co-starred in various television films and independent films, before in 2014 being cast to become a part of “The Young and the Restless”, playing Phyllis Summers. The series has won nine Daytime Emmy Awards throughout its run, and its contract is currently set for it to run until 2020. All of these opportunities have increased Gina’s net worth even further.

For her personal life, it is known that Gina married Joseph Chiarello in 2009 after being engaged for two years. According to reports, co-star Beth Ehlers introduced Joseph to Gina.
