Harold Reynolds grew up in Corvallis, Oregon and went to Corvallis High School, where he starred in football and basketball as well as baseball. Reynolds’ team won the state football championship in 1978, and he was a member of local American Legion baseball team that won the regional and state titles in 1978. Later, he was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.

Although he was selected in the 6th round of the 1979 amateur draft by the San Diego Padres, Reynolds decided to play baseball at Cañada College in Redwood City, California. A year later, the Seattle Mariners selected him as the 2nd pick in the amateur draft, however, as usual with rookies, before his MLB debut in September 1983, Harold spent some time in minor leagues, playing for the Wausau Timbers in Wisconsin in 1981, Lynn Sailors in Massachusetts in 1982, and Salt Lake Gulls in Utah in 1983. He stayed with the Mariners until 1992 and earned two invitations to the All-Star game, in 1987 and 1988. He then spent a season with the Baltimore Orioles, and ended his pro career with the California Angels in 1994. After his baseball career, it wasn’t hard for Reynolds to find a job on television, and he served as a lead studio analyst on ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight” from 1996 to 2006, but ESPN fired him allegedly for sexual harassment, but after Harold had sued them, they agreed to a seven-figure settlement in April 2008, which increased Harold`s net worth by a large margin. Since then, he has worked on MLB Network and the MLB on Fox, where he joined the broadcast team in 2014. However, he was replaced for the 2016 season.
